About

I am interested in the space between fragility and strength. The dichotomy between two seemingly different elements that come together to create a narrative- A story I feel inclined to share.

My materials are simple, yet they give the allusion of something a bit more illustrious. They interact and create conversations that encourage the viewer to question their connection, their relationship, their message.

I am continually inspired by my everyday environment.  I am continually inspired by my everyday environment. A white female teacher in one of the largest urban schools in the country. This culturally wealthy but economically challenged and often traumatized world, is one that I am constantly navigating. My role and my place in this equation is one that I both value and constantly reflect upon. This space is where my narratives are born, where inspiration is attained and where my creativity flourishes.

This body of work represents both specific experiences and overarching concepts that I am forced to contemplate through interactions and stories I face daily.

Connections and disconnects, structure or the lack there of, fragments vs. the whole, along with those small elements of gold...
